Terram Non-Woven

Terram Non-Woven Geotextiles are widely used in ground stabilisation and drainage projects. They provide reliable separation and filtration, preventing granular layers from mixing and stopping fine particles from entering the sub-base. As a result, the geotextile helps maintain the strength and stability of soil and aggregate layers.

By controlling soil movement and maintaining layer integrity, Terram Standard Nonwoven Geotextiles enhance the performance of construction surfaces. They also extend the design life of pavements, roads, embankments, and other civil engineering structures. The geotextiles are lightweight, easy to handle on site, and compatible with a variety of soil and aggregate types.

Because of these properties, Terram Standard Nonwoven Geotextiles offer an effective solution for separation, filtration, and long-term stabilisation in a wide range of civil engineering applications.

Features:

  • Made from high tenacity UV stabilised inert virgin polypropylene fibres
  • Mechanical entanglement of the fibres using needle punch and thermal bonding technology with very high static and dynamic puncture resistance
  • Random orientated web with isotropic properties provide the same high strength, high permeability and excellent filtration in all directions
  • Range of pore sizes that can filter different soils from course silt to large gravel whilst allowing the passage of water
  • High elongation (strain) at break point (ultimate tensile strength)

Benefits:

  • Highly durable in all typical soil conditions with an expected service life in excess of 100 years
  • Highly resistant to damage from construction compacting equipment, does not fray or rupture unlike woven geotextiles
  • Separation, filtration and protection function maintained at the subgrade/subbase interface even when subjected to radial loads from vehicle wheels
  • Extends pavement life by preventing mixing of imported granular fill and allows greater compaction of subbase materials
  • Maintains separation and filtration function under high load even in soft and variable strength ground unlike woven geotextiles
